Don't Miss

And a good time was had by all

Sorry, no App-Elon photos online

White is right, I guess, as the Apps of old brought down the first packed house in Elon history. No Armanti, but Kevin Richardson returned to form and Trey Elder remains The Man. Corey Lynch added outlandish new defensive feats to his Beowulf-like career, while Tim Washington prepares to start a sequel. The Apps are back!

Box score here. Details here.

Led by Walter Payton Award candidate Kevin Richardson and senior quarterback Trey Elder, No. 5 Appalachian State University ran for 365 yards — its highest total in seven years — en route to a 49-32 triumph over No. 24 Elon on Saturday at sold-out Rhodes Stadium.

Richardson registered his first 100-yard day of the season with 158 yards on 26 carries and Elder chipped in with a career-high 115 yards on 18 carries.

By the way, Get well soon wishes to Armanti Edwards. He did not dress for the game and, according to coach Moore, will likely not play next Saturday versus Gardner-Webb.

Also, much love to Kansas State coach Ron Prince after his Wildcats put a brutal beatdown upon mighty Texas in Austin. Gotta love the App parallels in that one.

One melancholy note – Furman lost. At home. To Wofford. Bad.
