It’s not one of THE numbers, but App State jersey No. 35 seems to be popular all of a sudden.
First, earlier this week a Dallas Cowboy fan blog asked its readers to vote for the greatest Cowboy player to wear No. 35. Among the nominees -
Jimmy Armstrong, DB, Appalachian State, 1987
Statistics: He started two games as a replacement player.
Armstrong wore No. 25 at App State from 1983-86. He was a hero in Sparky Woods first . . . → Read More: A random look at number 35

Think all the details in the upcoming Battle Royal in the Bayou are set? Think again.
ESPN wants a piece of the action. Bad.
Alleva, attending the SEC Spring Meeting, said Thursday that ESPN has shown “a lot of interest” in televising the Tigers’ Aug. 30 season opener against Appalachian State in Tiger Stadium.
A sticking point has been the time of kickoff. LSU is pushing for an evening kickoff while ESPN was hoping for an afternoon start.

3Peat Nation isn’t always slinging salt and vinegar at our SoCon siblings. Occasionally, we play nice. And today is another such day.
So happy anniversary to our friends down in the ‘Whee! It was 15 years ago this preseason that mighty, mighty Western Carolina was picked as the No. 1 team in I-AA, according to Sports Illustrated. Even more remarkable is not so much that Western Carolina is in such a poll, but that App State is not. . . . → Read More: Celebrating a big anniversa-Whee

Any Given Saturday has released its 2008 preseason football poll, and the SoCon is just a ga-ga over it.
3Peat Nation owns the top spot, as it has for the past two ASG pre-polls. Five league brethren also make the cut, including Wofford (10), Elon (15), Georgia Southern (16), The Citadel (21) and Furman (25). (What? No Samford??)

Admit it, doesn’t he just make you wanna melt?
Actually, it makes me want some coffee. Looks like a promo shot for a Folger’s commercial.
So last night the former App State point guard turned “hunky charity-starting drinkslinger” got some solo time with the incredibly desperate hottie DeAnna Pappas. And, well, I’ll let someone else lay it out (I’m starting to . . . → Read More: Falling for some hot Bunn lovin'

Meet Ms. Dewey. Ask her what she knows about App State and this screenshot is one of her many automated replies.
Given our offense next season, she’s gonna need a bigger gun.
Oh, and ask her about Western Carolina and she goes for much less powerful weaponry (of course!).
