The Fresh Prince scores big

Will Smith wishes he was this cool

In his second straight start at QB, Richie “THE Man” Williams put up numbers reminiscent of three seasons ago. And, just as he did then, he led his team to a big win.

It’s been awhile since the T-Cats looked this good.

It also casts an interesting shadow over the Tiger-Cats’ quarterback situation, as backup Richie Williams has thrown for more a total of 539 yards the past two weeks and led Hamilton to a combined 88 points on offence.

That’s far better production than the offence was getting from Printers when he went out with an injury on his throwing hand two weeks ago.

And with Printers expected to be ready for a critical division game against the Blue Bombers at Winnipeg next week, head coach Charlie Taaffe may be hard-pressed not to bench one of the league’s hottest players.

Another report says “Ticats coach Charlie Taaffe would not commit to naming Williams as his starter.”

Surely you jest. (And yes, you will be called shirley)

SPEAKING OF JESTING. This is a good story.

Finally, Charlie Taaffe doesn’t have to answer any more questions about the Hamilton Tiger-Cats’ inability to throw touchdown passes.

“I can say this now, but I thought it was hilarious that we hadn’t thrown a touchdown pass in a passing league,” Taaffe said. “I finally don’t have to answer that question anymore.

richie needs to be the decided starter now

How would there even be a question? You starter has lower passing yards and no touchdown passes in the CFL this year. Richie comes in and boosts the offense immediately. It sounds like this is a case like we have Armanti's freshman year. We had Elder who was a solid QB and then we had Edwards who instantly made the team better. Which one worked out better in that situation? Good luck Richie.

There's also a good little roundtable discussion of the game if you look at "related video" on the TSN page. The analysts (in an NFL Live style set up) all agree that Richie should start for now.

I loved that Toronto's Byron Parker said he though RW was one of the best QBs in the league!

Of course…there are only 9 teams, but still!
