Scary photo of the day. I do not want to see that ever again.
Cool photo of the day. Awwwwww.
Note to The Citadel. Be careful what you wish for.
The future looks bright. So when he hits the field, we’d better wear shades.
Apps look to make more Histor3. Or make that His4ory.
Just in case. AFter two wet home games, this has been a tailgating must have.

If it’s Monday, Daniel Wilcox must be scoring.
The newly wed not only gave his Ravens their first TD last night, he also delivered the first career TD throw for his quarterback, Joe Flacco. Ahhhh, irony. Delaware and App State, together again.
It was Wilcox’s only catch of the night. Here’s video. Just skip to 2:09. And yes, that was a nice lil dance there, but come on. He’s no Emmit Smith.

Doesn’t appear to be anything serious. “Edwards received normal treatment (Sun)day, according to school spokesman Mike Flynn. No X- rays or other tests were deemed necessary. Edwards, who passed for 220 yards in the first half prior to the injury, is considered day-to-day.

Word from campus was that AE was on crutches and a plastic boot this morning on his way to class? Anyone know anything new?

After a couple weeks of public finger wagging, the Blur put on a nice show Sunday. During a win over Green Bay, the App State great had three returns for 100 yards, including a biggie late.
But Jackson played a pivotal role in Sunday’s 30-21 victory against Green Bay, returning three kickoffs for 100 yards before dashing 19 yards with a fourth-quarter punt return that set up Matt Bryant’s go-ahead field goal.

The only two SoCon teams to beat App State last season had quite the rumble Saturday night. Wofford and Georgia Southern needed overtime, and the Dogs did something no other team has ever done – win three straight games at the Stink.
The game featured a few big turnovers, GSU denying Wofford thrice from the one-yard line, and one gutsy call from Wofford coach Mike Ayers. His team facing fourth-and-8(!) in overtime, Ayers chose pass over kick.
Wow.

Boo-birds were heard at least twice within The Rock Saturday. Once, when Presbyterian’s team ran out onto the field.
The second? When App State ran off at the end of the first half. And yes, as I said, this was AT The Rock.
The latter flock was much less conspicuous than the first, but was indeed heard. Now, is it fair to classify both boo batches as the same, or different?
Let’s ask an expert. What does Simmons say?

On this day in App State history …
- In 1928, App State plays its first varsity football game, a 26-0 loss at Mountain City. Coach Graydon Eggers led the team to a 3-6 record in his only season at the helm. In the 80 years since, App State has compiled a 518-298-28 overall record.

App State was limping through an embarrassing close third quarter tango with Presbyterian when Jacque Roman decided to get jiggy with it.
The Blue Hose – losers of three of four – was driving and facing a third and six. The QB took the snap, threw to an open receiver, and – BAM! – Roman hit the guy – HARD! – for a two-yard loss. Then the big LB got up and jirated like a bobblehips in an earthquake. . . . → Read More: Nothing like a dumb flag to wake a team up

First up, the weather. It looks like rain.
Saturday – Rain in the morning…then a chance of showers in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 60s. Light and variable winds. Chance of rain near 100 percent.
Saturday Night- Cloudy with a 50 percent chance of showers. Lows in the mid 50s.
Second, beware the gas shortage.
Several stations in such cities as Boone, Morganton, Asheville and Charlotte ran out of gas.

App State AD Charlie Cobb spoke yesterday with the Charlotte paper, and the topic was App State going I-A FBS. No reason given from where this came, but it’s an interesting read nonetheless
Most of Cobb’s comments are familiar (Marshall, geography, attendance, etc), but one line jumped out.
Still, many schools make the move in hopes of increasing public awareness. Cobb mentioned one in particular – no names, please – where that hasn’t worked. He doesn’t consider that a . . . → Read More: AD brings up the topic that just won't die

The Charlotte paper’s increasingly interesting and observant college football blog has details on just how many Apps are out for tomorrow. It’s depressing.

We were JMU’s Michigan. Beating App State apparently bigger than winning 2003 2004 title.
Meet our new starting RB. Welton is the new man.
It’s a sellout. Did you think it’d be otherwise?
A rain night game. Dress to be dry.
A Legend. Nice feature on a former App.
Breaking down the Blur. Little early to be so harsh, no?
Your own little AE. Isn’t this cute?
League race gets underway. Plenty of SoCon tilts Saturday.
