Don't Miss

Look who gets a chance to maybe play catch with the Blur

BOO!The pride of the Formidable Fumblin’ Dukes is headed to Tampa Bay! To try out as a QB!

Good luck with that.

Landers has been invited to play quarterback at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ rookie mini-camp this weekend, his agent said Monday night. Landers plans to leave for Tampa on Thursday and practice with the Bucs on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

“That’s the plan at the moment,” agent David Sullivan said by phone from his Norfolk home. “Right now, Rodney does not have a contract. He has an offer from Tampa to come down and compete at the quarterback spot.”

Best of luck, Landers. Seriously. We mean that. We salute most any I-AA FCS standouts elbowing for room in the big leagues. Maybe the Cover Boy can show you around.

WHY WE POST NEWS LIKE THIS. Yeah, purple isn’t one of our favorite colors either (it ranks just below fuschia). But Landers is one heck of a talent who spent some time getting banged around by the App State defense. The better he looks, the better we look. Heck. we’re still jazzed that a star running back in the last Super Bowl played his last college game in Boone. And lost.

Appfan, I just don't understand your obsession with JMU on this board. I hereby propose a six month moratorium on mentioning anything to do with JMU whether it be football, academics, or tiddlywinks.

No self-respecting App fan should even speak the word purple. Ever.

Despite his addendum to the original post, I still don't understand Appfan's obsession with JMU. Hell, last year you would have thought at times that this was a JMU blog because of the amount of JMU news that was posted. I'll say it again and say it loud: ENOUGH WITH THIS JMU CRAP!!! You want JMU then move to Harrisonburg.

How many QB's does Tampa plan to have down there? I think they already have like 5 under contract. Do they understand that they are a football team and do not need the New York Yankees' bullpen on the sidelines?

Only to mention you hate DRM … Only to mention you hate it …

In fact there should be an APP LAW no mentioning purple unless two words are placed before it … and those words be I HATE or WE HATE …

You know, Flashman, you could go start your own blog and post whatever you want. In the meantime, why not let Appfan decide what to post and what not to post or his(their) blog. This is an awesome site and what good does it do to bash the owners?

Anything to break down the barrier between I-A and FCS is good news to me.

Agree, asu7–that's exactly what I was trying to say, but you put it more clearly. And I'd pretty much say the same for all those "rple" schools–Jarple, Earple, Werple, Furple, etc.
