Don't Miss

And another App State season ends too soon

Good year guysIt’s hard enough to beat a good team once in the postseason. But twice? Within three days?

Well, that’s pretty tough. And, sadly, that’s what happened today.

The Citadel pitcher Matt Crim tossed a complete game, allowing only three runs, as the No. 3 seed Bulldogs knocked off No. 6 seed Appalachian State, 5-3, in an elimination game at the 2009 Southern Conference Baseball Championship at Fluor Field.

The Mountaineers had perhaps their best chance to take the lead in the top of the sixth inning. After loading the bases with no outs, ASU could not plate a run as the Bulldogs’ pitcher Matt Crim recorded three-straight outs to end the threat.

    Unrelated to baseball but…

Anthony Breeze IS coming to App State. He dropped by my apt yesterday and is currently looking for a place to live. Can't wait to see this guy play. He's big…won't be the tallest on the team but probably the most ripped! He's gonna be a dominant force in the SoCon, mark my words!

Come on, Dom. The guy wasn't even a dominant force in the Big South conference. Averaged 10 points a game for a below average Coastal Carolina team. Not to say he won't be a decent player but dominant force? Don't get carried away here.
