Snow quitting in this App

We thought Snow was always cold?

App track star Shea Snow has a big jump planned tomorrow. It’s in Greensboro. And she’s ready.

The SoCon champion pole vaulter is taking with her plenty of determination, a set goal and high optimism.

Oh, and a bum leg. No worries. Cause, as a senior, SHE AIN’T GOT TIME TO BLEED!

Snow, from Boonville and a former state champion at Starmount, endured pain from a stress fracture throughout the outdoor track-and-field season and discovered three weeks ago that a navicular bone was completely broken.

She was initially concerned by the strong possibility that she wouldn’t be able to close her senior season with potential to advance to the NCAA national meet next month in Arkansas, but plans to make a run at an elusive and essential mark of 12 feet, 7 inches in Friday’s regional competition.

“It’s healing faster than we thought it would,” said Snow, who has worn a protective boot and has been on crutches the past three weeks.

“I haven’t been able to put any weight on the foot, which is my take-off foot, until this past week. Yesterday I wrapped it up and tried jumping a little bit. I was fine — there wasn’t that much pain — but I know there might be a lot more pain Friday. But I’m willing to stick through it. It’s my last chance.”

Give ’em hell!

Not to mention she's twice the athlete and twice as tough as most of you boys.

Unfortunately, the broken foot got the better of her. She didn't clear the minimum height.
