App State won again Saturday, beating down poor Lil Sammy, 82-68.
It was their eighth victory in the past nine games, and sent the Mountaineers into next Saturday’s quarterfinals of the SoCon Tournament in Charlotte on quite a roll.
After the game, Peterson scribbled a message on a marker-board in the locker room in reference to his team’s ultimate goal of winning the SoCon Tournament and going to the NCAA Tournament.

Fare thee well, Kellen Brand, AJ Highsmith, Tyler Webb, Ryann Abraham and Josh Hunter. Most of you leave three-time North Division champions. Lil Sammy will see you out. We know today’s big rallying cry. We simply point out App State is really playing for only its 18th win against a D1 foe.

AE has been officially measured. Workouts really crank up today. QBs, WRs work out Sunday, all live at nfl.com.
And no, AE is not gonna run. As for his measurements …
He measured small (5-11, 187) with 32 1/4-inch arms, which could entice teams to consider him at wide receiver, although his strained right hamstring (injured while running routes in preparation for the combine) will keep him with the quarterback prospects this week.

We love you, Mary Jayne – “App State’s first NCAA Champion, Harrelson won titles in the 1500m run in 1999, 2001. She won 23 SoCon Championships and was the league’s Female Athlete of the Year in both 99, 01.” She was also a silver medalist in the 1500m run at the 2003 Pan American Games.

Reps from Texas and Tennessee made their pitches yesterday – A “recommendation was passed along to the Division I Championships/Sports Management Cabinet. That group will make a final determination on who will host the game during a conference call today.” Advantage, ‘Nooga.

Only one North Division team this season managed to beat App State. And that was ‘Nooga.
In last night’s rematch, the Mocs went down!
Barely.
The Mountaineers, who had previously locked up the North Division’s No. 1 seed for the Southern Conference Tournament, secured an outright first-place finish in the North with last night’s victory. They improved to 19-11 overall and 12-5 in the SoCon.

/sigh – “Edwards said he “tweaked a hamstring” while running a pass route during training last week and might not be able to run the 40-yard dash when quarterbacks and receivers go through drills Sunday in Indianapolis. “I’m not going to run if it’s not 100 percent.””
AE IN TOP FIVE? Hmmmm – “Levi Brown is a 6-foot-3-inch quarterback from Troy. Opinions on his NFL future vary widely. Pro Football Weekly ranks him fifth behind Bradford from Oklahoma, Clausen . . . → Read More: Well this just ruins our week

Appfan Michael needs advice – “I live 25 minutes from Lucas Oil Stadium, where the Combine is being held. I’d love to see Armanti while he’s in town just to let him know he’s got at least one fan here in town. Any suggestions on how I should try to lend my support to the Greastest App?”

It’s been a loooonnnnggggg time since App State had a question mark at QB.
The Greatest App Ever was the penciled-in starter the past three seasons. Victor(y) Elder was the expected starter back in ’06. Richie “THE! Man!” Williams was the established leader prior to that, after filling in last-minute against Marshall due to an injury to then-expected starter Joe Burchette.
So, basically, this is uncharted territory – who will take the snaps next season?
