Rock the body that rocks the par-tayParty-hardy y’all! Time to celebrate and mechanic-ate – “We just made some awful mistakes.… Our job is to get those things corrected this week.”” Also know, no traffic allowed out of stadium until 15 minutes after the game. And no traffic in for an hour. Try to be patient.

Now down to business. Let's see DP have another 300 yard day. And let's see Devon Moore bring his A-game back! Defense, get PUMPED!!!! Mark Legreedy and Cortez Gilbert need to get psyched. Let's see this secondary run circles around their receiving core!

    GO APPS!!

  12. ceez

    September 11, 2010 at 7:51 am

Gilbert graduated last year. Coco is serving a two game suspension, but he got to dress and travel with the team last week which puts a new meaning to suspension in my mind. Why still pay for him to travel if he is suspended? That's the coaches choice, just see that your donations are going to paying for suspended players to travel.

Watching the Florida-USF game, if App wants to have a chance, the D will need to play with speed. Currently in the 2nd quarter and Florida is scoreless. They look like they are a bit vulnerable to the run as well.

  46. Rick

    September 11, 2010 at 12:33 pm

I know LeGree is an all-american, but he played very poorly at the beginning of the year last year, and has been out-of-position half of the plays this year. McDuffie has looked against the run, but MIA against the pass. Gotta get better safety play if we are gonna stick with Dale Jone's ridiculus version of the Tampa 2.

  47. appstategrad2008

    September 11, 2010 at 12:35 pm

Yeah, we gotta pick up the pace…

JMU beating Va Tech this year may make it less likely that we could beat 'em next season (Va Tech I mean)… they'll certainly be more aware when we come rollin' into town.

  60. Rick

they've got some things to clean up before Elon rolls in, but when this offense wakes up, watch out.

  141. sway

    September 11, 2010 at 2:19 pm

JB…you have a wonderful point. I've been thinking the same thing after last weekend. Elon's qb will give us a run for our money if our secondary cannot get things together.

Watching our defense is like playing the lottery… it's full of disappointments, but every now and then your efforts are rewarded.

    September 11, 2010 at 2:24 pm

Nice throw!! His touch has gotten better since last year on the scout team!

    September 11, 2010 at 2:25 pm

Well, Jamal Jackson has a pretty successful debut drive… the future of the offense continues to look bright!

  149. sway

    September 11, 2010 at 2:26 pm

Haha. So apporange, you're from pecker land huh. Haha. I'm just gland you upgraded and came to app. But seriously we are all pulling for the same team now so our HS differences can be put behind us…until cary plays apex.

  150. Rick

    September 11, 2010 at 2:29 pm

Patrick Blaylock needs to be playing more. A dern walk-on freshman. Jerry Moore has THE best walk-on program in the country! Bar none! Blaylock is now my favorite player!

  156. carbine

Enjoy the win, fellas. If this defense doesn't get MUCH better VERY quickly, there will be fewer this year than you think.

  157. Rick

    September 11, 2010 at 2:35 pm

Can anyone hold onto the ball? Chisolm is playing now … but where is Radford??? He looked last week.

    September 11, 2010 at 2:35 pm

It's all good Freeman, I graduated HS seven years ago and cary has not played well since then. From what I've heard, cary has been playing just as well as the falcons. haha. Either way, I'm pulling for App for the rest of my life. HS is over and college football is the best thing ever.

  159. Rick

    September 11, 2010 at 2:36 pm

Amen carbine! I hate it, but I agree!

Chisholm has an east-west habit in practice. Dancing too much.

Why does everyone leave after halftime? Just wondering. We always stay to the last 3 or 4 minutes even in a blowout…

REALLY nice to see every player from BOTH teams gather for prayer at mid-field after the game. God bless, no injuries!

GO APP! Now go head back to locker room and put on the practice pads and get back out there and get the defense straightened out. Nice win though.

Tusculum (?) beating Western Carolina 7-0 in the 2nd. AT least we're not a Catamount!! Ga Southern gave Navy a good game. SoCon with a decent showing, at least we're not the ACC!! LOLOLOLOL.

turned into a beautiful day for the game! my little girl had a wonderful time and handled all of the excitement and chaos with a smile and some dancing……

kill the zone defense for the love of all things Appalachian. We have the athletes to play man to man coverage on most teams we play and the zone doesn't seem to be sinking in on them.

We have a good team but we are sputtering now…..i have faith that it will come together……challenges are good for building the team, but hard to watch from the stands (though it wasn't as challenging in the second half) Anyway, great day to be in Boone!!

    September 11, 2010 at 4:08 pm

    Midwest….

should we put Devon Moore and Baker in the defensive secondary with Cadet now?

Don't look now, but early in the 4th and the Whee is down by 30…to a team that ESPN doesn't think exists…

At least the Va Tech guys can have someone to laugh at this weekend.

Quite a few fcs upsets today. Jmu, south Dakota, I think I saw Gardner Webb beat Akron on the bottom ticker. The fcs will be all around competitive this season. I know it is still early but looks like there will be some good competition this season. I can't wait until next week to go to my first home game this season. Hope the weather holds up and we get over 30000 for family weekend

    nomad-

Notice I qualified that suggeston with "I know it may sound crazy, but what about putting Cadet in the secondary…"

The guy is a playmaker, so I really don't care where he plays. My point was that we don't necessarilly need him on offense, especially when our secondary still sucked (for the most part) today.

    September 11, 2010 at 6:51 pm

I have 5 things to say after today's game.
    1. Brian Quick is good
    2. Our team is in much better shape than everyone else
    3. There were a LOT of old school Yosef's
    4. I drastically underestimated the ability for drunk co-eds to entertain a 2 and a half year old.
    5. My two and a half year old is a tailgating machine

  182. carbine

    September 11, 2010 at 7:29 pm

Flashman, I didn't think we'd ever hear from a bigger idiot on this board than Midwest, but you win the prize today. There are no 'functional illiterates' in the South Atlantic Conference. That must be your family you're thinking of.

  183. The rock

    September 11, 2010 at 7:46 pm

I realty feel bad for cadet in a way. In the right situations, he is explosive, a nice athlete and a playmaker. I'm just not sure where he fits in at App. Obviously not at QB. We have 2 great ones waiting on the sidelines at all times. Same with running backs. Same with WR. I really feel he would be better off at a school with less talent such as a Georgia southern/ jayson foster situation.

  184. Dan

    September 11, 2010 at 8:15 pm

Montana just lost to Cal Poly. IF we can take care of what we need to take care of, this gives us a leg up on playoff seeding.

  185. caryapp

    September 11, 2010 at 9:21 pm

so is it possible after the jmu loss that va tech may try to take us off the schedule for next year given they will have a new quarterback and if we happen to beat them the whole city of blacksburgh might explode but seriously could it happen?

  186. Gwaltineer

    September 11, 2010 at 11:06 pm

how about we let Cadet play the same position for three straight weeks for once?

  187. BREW

    September 12, 2010 at 5:32 am

Traffic was horrible! The new announcer takes so long to say another Appalachian first down that we say it at the start of the next play. Gainey could of not shown up and the game would not of changed. Fletcher was helld bad all day. One time the guy was on his back and he still was rushing. DP looked good but passes still off. The short time JJ was in his passes looked better. Nice to be back!!!!!
