The Stink claims SoCon title

Did it without beating the defending champWhoopin’ – “The No. 4 Eagles answered with a dominant 31-10 victory over the No. 9 Terriers to win their first SoCon championship outright since 2002, and their first league title overall since 2004, which they shared with Furman. Scott said SoCon Commissioner John Iamarino presented the team with the championship trophy inside the Eagles’ locker room. “Just to see it, and feel it and have it in your hands … I did kiss it a couple of times,” Scott said. “It is amazing.”

If you have been around the program for very long it is very evident that there is something going on. I am not going to say that our coaching staff is anywhere near where it was. I am going to say they are not as bad as they are acting. Something is wrong down there. Something we don't see is going on. We don't have a leader on the team and we don't have a leader on the coaching staff. I don't mean Coach Moore, I am talking about a game time motivator. There is no emotion down there. They just look like they are going through the motions. Something is just not right.

Congrats to GSU, ASU went to Greenville, and got what we/ASU deserved, lost to an inferior team. Thats the breaks, now picture this a win at Elon and there in. This team right now could have been ranked #2 in the nation. Hey if ASU goes to Elon with the same attitude they did in Greenville it will be a sad day. Either way this teams identity will be revealed this Saturday. Oh one more thing GSU enjoy your ass beaten at Alabama….

All we have to do is focus and prepare for a Furman team that we should have beat by 14+. Not only do we get to claim our 7th SoCon title in a row and the autobid, we probably end up with at least a #2 seed. UND lost yesterday, and UM may beat MSt next weekend, and we end up with the #1 seed. Everything fell into place for us, with the exception of us doing what we needed to do…

Hey BoogieMan, you think GSU will get an ass-whipping as bad as what Va Tech did to us? Ought to wish them well as GSU and Wofford will likely progress farther in the playoffs than we will.

Lost to an inferior team. How does that work. They win but we are better. That my friend is FBS talk. Don't play for the winner vote for the winner. Let the computer do it. Let's just save a lot of money and skip playing the games and have a university fantisy football team. We could draft our players from that fantastic conference, CUSA. All those folks who leave at the half could save the trip.

The scoreboard says we got beat by a better team and the scoreboard is the only thing that counts.

"Better" is a variable condition, always in a state of flux, even during a game. We screwed up at Furman, plain and simple.

I wish someone had the answer. Unfortunately the way they are now is the way I remember the staff being from 1989 up until 2004.

I know that sometimes it appears that I pull against the coaching staff with some of my comments but, that is not the case. I want them to succeed. I want the program to be successful and they both go hand in hand. But when you see the same mistakes over and over again it makes one think that the staff does not give a damn or they do not have the ability to change and or improve. I think they give a damn so my assumption is the latter.

We need a change in leadership. We need it now. I know everyone is focused on the future and the move. But, the reality is that we have kids playing now and they do not give a crap about five years from now. They are concerned with today. We owe them the best. They are not getting it.

    NO MOORE!

All time favorite quote from Lou Holtz, (wipes the projectile spit from my face)…*ahem* "You don't have to be the best team in the country to win a football game, you just have to be the best team on the field". So true. The day Furman beat us, they were the better team pure and simple.

True Greg, but why was Furman the better team on 11/5? I dont believe they are the better team. I think we pissed away the SoCon and a chance at a seed. I saw an unprepared, unimaginative team. Vanilla, vanilla, vanilla. JMHO.

Also, to correct my earlier post, NDSU lost this past weekend, not UND.
