Ian Barnard is a junior O-lineman for App State. His 6-foot-4, 277-pound bod is penciled in as starting right guard.
Lotta pressure to perform. So he’s kuh-ILL-init in the weightroom. As are other Apps.
Big time.

Daniel Kilgore is an App State great beginning his sophomore NFL season with the 49ers. He knows what it takes to get the job done. He saw the Barnard twitters and offered some advice.

As another great man once said ….
53 days.
Give yourself hell!
Kilgore was a stud. Would love to see one of the guys from our young OL step up and match his passion and drive. Kendall Lamm has a lot of potential and, along with Acey, he forms the backbone of the group that is the most vital to our success this season.
The success of any team starts with the guys who get the least praise and attention, the linemen. The most creative offenses would still fail without a good line. Work hard guys, and your efforts will pay off big time!
Let's hope Ledford can lead this group to greatness. The OL was one of the biggest question marks heading into the season, along with DT and WR depth. Hopefully the beef up front can gel and allow for a lot of playcalling options. If Ledford gets this group heading in the right direction, this OL has the potential to be nasty in the years to come…we are young!
This is why I love twitter
Heard from someone that personally knows satterfield that the oline is the worse he has ever seen at app!
I hope that is not true
I heard from someone who personally knows Satterfield that the oline is the best he has ever seen at app!
Why spread the rumors like this around? How about we just wait and see come September 1 how good they are. They are young, but there is a lot of time left for Ledford to get them ready!
SS is used to seeing a Shawn Elliot O Line at ASU. I'm sure he felt the same way at FBS FIU over the past few years.
Not surprising if it's true though. He is indeed used to seeing a stellar O-Line under Elliot and McClain did some serious damage last year.
One thing is sure: It will certainly be improved from last year. I'm confident they can perform well enough to give our play makers a chance.
While I agree with the old adage that the offense is dictated by the play of the O-Line, I also think there are ways around that. If SS can keep the defense on their toes and honest, a mediocre O-Line will do.
A good O-Line makes a mediocre offense good. A good offense makes a mediocre O-Line good.
I just don't understand why anyone thinks we're going to be any good this year. We were pretty bad last year and you never know what to expect with FCS recruiting.
@ Jack…..because we are Appalachian State. Bad is not in our vocabulary. What our fans think is bad is still a winning season. Even outside of Boone, we are HOT HOT HOT!
Stop Already with the HHH comments.
Got a good snicker with the HOT, HOT, HOT reference, hahah. Man I wish that video could be erased from existence.
Yeah, I agree. But, unfortunately, video lives forever, especially in the digital age.
I heard from a guy who once cut Jerry Moore's cousin's hair that Jamal Jackson has grown wings and can now take flight. He is a living, breathing Pegasis. Therefore, the O-Line is obsolete.
Jamey, I heard the same thing actually!!
I also heard he has stretch armstrong abilities, and can stretch is arms the whole length of the field to put the ball over the goal line without ever moving! Our offense is going to be so potent this year!
The General is an idiot. There is no way any self-respecting coach would say that about his team.
