Get down – “App State announced Tuesday that Southern rock band NeedToBreathe will headline annual Fan Fest on Saturday, Aug. 18 at Kidd Brewer Stadium. NeedToBreathe is touring nationwide on the heels of their latest album, The Reckoning, debuting at No. 6 on Billboard’s top-200 chart.” Whoooooa .. Oooooooh-uh-oooooh .. ooooooh, oh ….
Little did we know that former Furple Wideout Bear Reinhart would ever return to the site of "go for 2"…and be the head man for Needtobreathe.
NEEDTOBREATHE is amazing. I can't believe someone else knew one of their members was on the go for two Furple team. Very good!!!!!!! What a great concert this shall be!
I was at the "miracle on the mountain" and I'll never ever forget that moment. Funny that the man that caught the TD to set up the 2 point conversion is now the leadman of one of my favorite bands. I've seen NeedToBreathe 3 times (and counting) and they are extremely talented and well worth going up the mountain to see. They put on a great show. Will be seeing them in Asheville in September as well.
If you do go to fanfest, don't hold it against him that he went to Furple!
Needtobreathe is an outstanding band. "Slumber" is one of our favorite songs, don't miss a chance to see them if you can make it!
I guess this make me old but…Who?
I'm 27 and I have NO CLUE who that band is. And I listen to a lot of music. Is it a boy band or something?
Its a southern rock band.. They aren't very big (yet!) but are VERY good!
I likely won't be making it, but someone needs to make a sign that says "Bear, Go for 2!"
Someone told me they were a Christian band. I've never heard of them before this and I'm 23.
I was hoping for a Tupac hologram.
Gonzo, clearly someone was missing the vision since the Tupac hologram isn't happening.. Gosh, our athletic department is awful! We need to get someone in there that has a vision and a plan!!!
Gonzo is 23?? Pictured you as someone a bit older…
I see some people are surfing the comments to see if they're too much of a legitimate band to gripe about…seriously, Hogan and Appmaj? Appfan linked to their website and all you have to do is google them to figure out NeedtoBreathe is as big as you can get before you hit national fame. They finished up a tour with Taylor Swift recently and, as said above if you all can read, have been featured in several movies/commercials. I'm very surprised someone attracted them here. If you can make it, do yourself a favor and go.
Also Gonzo, I don't know if I would call them a Christian band per say, but they do have several songs with a Christian message. They also have several good jamming songs, love songs, etc.
I've seen these guys in concert and I would definitely recommend them if you like southern rock. I'm personally excited.
Again (stormin), perhaps it reflects that I am old an out of touch but even after following the link to the band page; I have never heard of this band or these songs. Opening for Taylor Swift really put this out of my wheel house.
Don't read my comment as a complaint. I simply have never heard of this band.
NeedtoBreathe is a Christian band. They played at Gardner-Webb a few months ago my plans to go see them then fell through so this is going to save me 38 bucks.
"Washed in the Water" is probably their most known song from a few years ago.
They are not technically a Christian band, but a band full of Christians. They have had a couple of songs featured on Christian radio but they are not under a Christian label.
Also, the only reason they toured with Taylor Swift is because they are her personal favorite band and it was HUGE exposure for them. Playing night after night for packed houses giving the Dad's that take their 12 year olds to the Swift concert something to go home happy about. Seriously, do yourself a favor and actually listen to their music before you dismiss them.
You won't be disappointed. I promise.
That would be "Washed by the Water." I've noticed that their song "Something Beautiful" has been in a few movies and a commercial or two, you may recognize it.
I am not a fan. So much for the ADP going topless
Nice post. I was checking continuously this weblog and I am impressed! Extremely useful info specially the closing section
I care for such info much. I used to be looking for this particular information for a very long time. Thank you and good luck.
The Reinhart brothers grew up in Possum Kingdom, S.C. What's not to like about Possum Kingdom???
They sound like a Christian band, even if they are not "technically a Christian band" (whatever that means). There's a good chance that many of you will not know the bands that come to this sort of thing. The Rolling Stones don't play many college football practices.
Hopefully, Billy Napier and Ingle Martin start a band so they can come next year.
"Conference USA has hinted at expanding further, perhaps dipping back in the Sun Belt pool (including MTSU as a candidate)"
Old news, but hey something more interesting that the latest posts…

Is that a zinger, shot at very old rockers; very old App fans on this board; or both? I think it probably is both.
This is a solid band that puts on a good show! I saw them open for Third Day four years ago at House of Blues in Myrtle Beach. They have several positive songs played on Christian radio as well as having some good tracks from movies and t.v shows. Last years Fanfest turned me (and others) on to Cory Smith. Maybe this years will turn others on to Need To Breathe. All this is exciting. Footballsacomin!!!
I just meant don't expect household names at these events.
clayton,
It's all good. I was looking at the "Old School" Yosef helmets and realized that I am so old that I have seen every helmet design in Appalachian history, including the leather ones with no face makes and even before that when they played "Caveman Football" with NO helmets at all and a young Frank Sinatra performed at FanFest with the Benny Goodman band. Those were the days…………………
