Given’ ‘em hell.
Peyton Manning looks great. Ditto Champ Bailey and Elvis Dumervil. In a training camp marked by precision and predictability and devoid of any real drama so far, one move has stood out for the Denver Broncos: the promotion of perennial backup Jason Hunter to starting strongside defensive end.
New defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio loves Hunter’s “temperament, toughness, attitude,” and says he’s going to play the guys who are the most dependable, toughest, and the most physical up front. “He’s being all that right now for us,” Del Rio said.
“I love Jason,” Del Rio gushed. “Jason is a rugged defensive lineman; that’s what we’re looking for with our defensive line. … Every day he brings it with passion. I haven’t seen him yet not be ramped up and ready to play hard and tough. So that’s why he’s running with the ones right now. He’s kind of played his way into that spot.”
NFL preseason gets busy Thursday. Among the games is Denver at Chicago.
Old pic…his number is 90.
Congrats to Hunter, much deserved. Dude is a machine.
Remember when we had a dominant defense????? I don't…
Give 'en hell, Sticks!
It was so heartwarming to hear Coach Moore speak so highly of Jason in our Ladies Football 101 ending session in the locker room. He sounded like a proud grandfather!
I'm proud of you, too J! Miss you!
Jason Hunter is simply a great college player who has worked hard to become a dependable pro….the kind of player every team needs. We should all be proud of him.
I like that they like that he got in a fight in practice. BEAST
I also just read that Brian Quick is running with the first team at WR in St. Louis… would be amazing if he started on opening day his rookie season.
Give'em hell STICKS!!!!!!!!!
Awesome job, Sticks!
That's the value of perseverance and bringing your lunch pail each day…
…not to mention having a rabid junkyard dog (and former Cowboy) for a Def. Coordinator.
If there is one thing John Fox will always go for, it is a defensive player who bring emotion to the field every day. Sticks has worked his butt off during his days in Green Bay & Detroit to get an opportunity to go kill QB's. Congrats and good luck this season.
I think it's great to see him doing well. Very deserving for one of the players that had a big part in the beginning of the three peat.
What ever happened to Murrell?
Anyone got any inside info on D Blackmon? A shame if we was running wiht the 1's and is out for the season?

Good news about armanti from carolina training camp
Murell is playing for the Montreal Alouettes in Canada. He is currently in injured reserve.
Hope fox doesnt find out Hunter went to ASU
I told J not to tell him just as soon as Denver picked him up three years ago!
Good things come to those who work their butts off consistently.
As for Armanti, if you read that article closely you'll note that what Rivera is saying is that the project is over–he's got to produce in games now or else. I've been to three Panthers practices, and of course the competition at WR has been the focus of my attention. Armanti's had some good moments, but he's missed a few opportunities too, in my opinion. No one will be pulling harder than I for him Saturday night when he should plenty of reps against the Texans.
