Smith assured starting spot, Sticks out for months

Love us some PackersSecure – “D.J. Smith, a sixth-round draft choice out of App State, is entrenched as the only inside linebacker on the field in the dime defense that the Green Bay Packers hope to use more this season. The message from defensive coordinator Dom Capers was that it is Smith’s job to lose.” suh-WEET! In Denver, depressing news – “Hunter will miss at least two months and possibly the season with a torn triceps muscle. He reportedly injured the arm while hitting a blocking sled during practice.”

This totally breaks my heart for Jason! His surgery went well….but…too soon for a prognosis. Hang in there, J! Your App State Family is cheering for you–and I'm the LOUDEST ONE!

The bigger news for DJ is this, "As it stands now, Smith will play 100 percent of the snaps as the weak inside linebacker in base."

Looks like Appfan woke up from their long summer's nap! Three articles in 1 day. Wow!

Haha Jason. That's how its always been with AppFan. Nothing for 8 months out of the year, then come football season, posts all the time!

Check out AppStateCentral.com if you want constant updates all year long! ;)

Smith looked great last year. It's great to see an App starter on a team that will compete

Da.Juggernaut. Smith is turning out to be the most prolific ASU alum in the NFL since a man they called Coakley. Impressive stuff from a guy deemed "too small to play in the NFL."

Sticks will bounce back like he always does. It is obvious John Fox likes his grit and his fire on the field. That type of player will always have a spot on a Fox coached team.
