Super Bowl winning vet loves an App State rookie
Thursday, August 16, 2012, at 2:30 pm
Praise – “He’s a great fit for this offense,” Saints assistant head coach Joe Vitt said of Cadet after Wednesday’s practice. “He’s a guy that can line up on the outside lanes, create mismatches against the linebacker, and potentially create mismatches against the safety.” QB Drew Brees said that Cadet seemed to get comfortable in the complex offense rather quickly. “It never feels like it’s too much for him, he is always in the right place at the right time, doing the right thing and you can count on him.”"

YOU GO, TC!!!! PROUD OF YOU!
Cadet may end up being one of those guys that was quiet at the collegiate level and blows it up in the pros. I know it sounds silly, but a lot times a guy just "looks" like a player, throw out the stats. Cadet seems to have that factor, the other stuff is fixable at the pro level. I'm in his corner.
Further proof we needed better play calling in my view…
Better something … we wasted his talents. We wasted Ben Jordan's as well.
He was likely underutilized. However, the fact that we used him in so many different settings also allowed him to hone a number of different skill sets that he otherwise might not be able to display at NO.
If only he played for another team. Why does it have to be the f'in Saints* I'm pulling for Cadet to be put on the practice squad and then picked up by another team that needs RB help
I hope he makes this nfl squad just shows how ASU's old coaching staff had no idea what they had.
For Cadet to fit in so fast and Drew to point out how he seems to always be in the right place, doing the right thing and he can count on him….this would seem to indicate he actually was well coached.
Six guys from the last three teams in NFL camps and ASU has what to show for all that talent?
Three championships in a weak conference and….
A trip to the semi finals
A butt whipping in round two
A total embarassment in a modified round one
That was one more great staff JM put together!
Keep it up TC. APPNATION is pulling for you. Remember though it is called the N (not) F (for) L (long). Make the squad!
Impressive praise coming from Drew Brees! I still think our O-line production is what ultimately led to the teams short-comings. 2007 was the last year Kerry Brown played, and I think he was an unsung talent on those championship teams.
Keep it up Cadet. AppState is proud of you!
+1 jland
Just think if we had SS around for the last 2 years we had Cadet and Quick & co. Wow, they were very much underutilized and just goes to show how much of a cluster the coaching had been on the offensive side of the ball.
Remember Cadet could really play…but had trouble holding on to the Ball
Wish him all the best.
We are very proud of how well our NFL alumni are doing this year. Cadet included. But we are also pi$$ed off at how Moore wasted the talent of these young men while they were in Boone, NC.
During the season Moore's supporters like to ask the question: "How do you KNOW we have the best talent on the field? These ASU players just may be average".
My response is; Well Sparky just look at how much success all of the NFL players from ASU are having in the bigs. A def, dumb and blind WCU Grad can see how much they are now contributing at the highest level of football.
It is enough to give ya a stomach ache to see all of the talent we have wasted over the course of the last several years.
WAY TO GO COACH! Maybe you should not spend so much time trying to "Hold it together", and do some damn coaching. You are responsible for the team ain't ya?
Cadet was not used in his most effective roles while at ASU. New Orleans has gotten him the ball IN SPACE so he can create in the open field. We tried to make him a between the tackles runner. I am hoping Satterfield will do a better job of recognizing where a player is most lethal and finding a way to get them the call in that role. Instead of screens and short routes, we ran draws with TC. You have to allow a guy like this room to make people miss.
Excellent work by Cadet to pack on some pounds, work on securing the football, and be versatile enough to make New Orleans feel like they have to keep him on the roster.
