I got a pirate club friend to hook me up with tickets. It was too damn hot in the upper sections last year where all the App alotted tickets were. 4 tickets in section 6, 4 in section 5, and 2 in section 2, 8 app alumni, 2 ECU fans…we will be parking in at a brick house on the corner near the elementary school, and partying with several of our neighbors who are ECU fans. Should be a blast.
Anybody know of a way to stream Sports South online? I went as far as looking in to upgrading my cable with the sports tier just to be able to watch this game but they only offer 3 of the midewest Fox Sports channels.
Hate that I will miss this one, last opener missed since '07.

Prior to the game we'll be at the ECU purple school bus, tailgating with a bunch of Pirates. Good thing about knowing the guys with the bus, they get to park that thing on Friday night, so it's all ready to go when the parking lot opens at 8:00.
For everyone going to the game, if you have parking at the stadium give yourself an extra 30-45 minutes. ECU doesn't do Noon games very well with their traffic control. I was supposed to tailgate with the school bus guys a few years ago when ECU opened against UNCCHeat at noon and missed kick-off even though I pulled into Greenville at 9:00AM!
We got about 20 tailgating at the Masonic Temple. Seats at 219 CC! The Alray App bus will be there.

I would add the Samford game in 2010…they even ran out of water before halftime in the stadium and had a dozen fans on cots getting IV fluids at half time. The opener at UTC was damn hot too in 2010. LSU in 2008 is still the hottest I remember…the App pregame party got moved outdoors and at 8AM in felt like the sun was on top of you.

Yeah, I 'bout DIED at Chatty two years ago! But it sure was a great game! Seemed really strange to be there in the daytime in such oppressive heat and not all bundled-up against the cold at night. Hanging around the locker room talking the guys postgame, I kept thinking, "Okay, we're in CHATTANOOGA and WE WON! So, WHERE'S OUR TROPHY???"
The BoD will be at ECU in full force! They CAN'T go duck under the stands to escape the heat like the fans can. They'll have their own water coolers with cups but maybe some folks could buy them all some rounds of bottled ice cold water?
Note to BoD from me: BRING SOME STRONG SUNSCREEN!

I may have 10 extra tickets dropping in my lap tonight. will post here if I get them, also where I will be. I will sell them for face value, and I will give special prices for students from app who make the trip last minute. I should know tonight or first thing in the morning
Did hear we returned some tickets to them. Maybe being 5 years since the 'good ol days' has started affecting current students' ticket sales.
Im not sure what I will have to pay for the extras tonight, but I paid 50 bucks a pop for my first 10 but they are all on the press box side of the field between the 40 and 50 yard line, not sure what the ticket price is in the upper deck, but I am all about helping out a few kids from boone, just will make sure I see thier student id. if i get them ill post my email address and who ever needs tix can contact me and tell me what you need and I'll see what we can do and where to meet me.

Based on what I heard, we sold our original allotment of 5000. Then we requested more, but did not sell all of the additional tix. We then returned a portion of the extras.
I still expect a solid ASU contingent in G-vegas.
Also, I'm not surprised they didn't sell too many $50 student tix. I know it wouldn't have been easy for me to swing 50 bucks when I was in school.

I talked to my brother who is at App and he said everyone he talked to about going said the $50 tickets kept them from going….App doesn't set ticket price for away games…

The Swamp in 2010 was a little warm, but ECU in 09 was just misery.
Ticket office says the heat and game time factored in fewer tickets being sold this year.
I have three exta tickets and a parking pass if someone needs 'em. South side of stadium, but in potentially hostile territory (Row X, deep in Pirate Club-Ville).
BTW, I think it's a joke the EZU folks set the student ticket price at $50. I suppose they want all the App State kids to see everything they ARE NOT missing by passing on ECU:

I'm wearing a black sleeveless. Plenty of SPF 30 on the arms. I won't risk being confused as an EZU fan by wearing yellow or white. Totally worth it.
