Saturday highlights. Make that ECU highlights. Fox shows no love for App.

All about conditioning. “I definitely think we did wear their defense down,” Pirates receiver Andrew Bodenheimer said. “They played us well at the beginning, but I think our conditioning from this summer played a big part.”

DP takes his talents to South Beach – Give ‘em hell!

LeGreedy with Falcons. Ditto!

Ouch. From Saturday night in Dallas, “First video-board Michigan taunt from Cowboys Stadium – showed a fan wearing an Appalachian State T-shirt.”

Lil Sammy wins SoCon opener. “Cameron Yaw’s 27-yard field goal with 37 seconds left helped lead Samford past Furman 24-21 Saturday in the season opener for both teams.”

‘Whee are 1-0! “We had to steal some of App State’s assistants, but that’s OK if they teach us how to win.”

So … close. “Redshirt freshman Deandre Martin scored the go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter on a 2-yard run as Wake Forest came from behind to defeat Liberty 20-17 Saturday.”

Beware the Triple Drop-tion. El Cid has six fumbles in 49-14 win over Charleston Southern.

Next. “The Griz, breaking in a new quarterback and a number of other starters of their own, quickly took a double-digit lead as they ran all over USD for 315 yards on the ground and 568 yards of total offense.”

Apparently Bodenheimer didn't see his team substituting their entire front 7 every 3rd down on defense. Conditioning has nothing to do with 22 scholarships.

Right. The heat was a problem for both teams they just had more bodies to throw at the problem. Had nothing to do with superior conditioning.

LeGreedy joins Sixth team. Has he play one actual play, NO. What is the record for any player include Practice team in a 2 year period? Career Record??

Highlights of game: listen closely, I think he said East Carolina vs App-lauch-ion-ia state. My spelling is not great. If someone wants to spell exactly what he said please correct it. He said this twice.

Looked even worse than it did live. Hope things turn around next week.

App dropped to 11th while Montana dropped to 12th. People still predicting a record crowd this Saturday? Just a question

Honestly how can Wofford be ahead of us they beat Gardner Webb. This is probably our lowest regular season ranking since 2005 (not count the end of year ranking for last year at #12.) We had better beat Montana. This game really important for us. The game does not mean much for Montana who does not play a FBS team this year. Losing to Montana could mean no home field game in the Playoff past first round.

we started 0-2 in 2009 and went to the semi finals…our 4th best finish ever. I think this team could be one that gets better most every week. That probably hasn't been said since 2009. I can't wait for the game, but it's not do or die.

The blurb about Citadel talks about Freshman RB Vinny Miller and his first action. He's the running back we passed on because we took Quarterio the transfer from somewhere in TN, who then promptly flunked out or quit or who cares!!! Stupid stupid stupid!! Now we have almost nothing left with Chisolm out. Our recruiting is reactionary and leaves alot to be desired. That's another aspect of the program that has to significantly improve if we have any illusions of going to FBS!! It's a full time job, not an extra duty for one of the junior coaches.

I would not call Holloway a "reactionary" recruit Yogi, injuries happen (and for that matter, so do suspensions). Imagine if we had Rizor and the 3 that are suspened for the first 2 games. No one would be questioning depth.

That's 6 quality players gone. Crap happens, I hate it, but it does.

Holloway had a knee injury in high school that caused him to miss games in high school. How many collegiate running backs have you heard of that already have knee injuries coming out of high school and have been successful in college, or even managed to survive. He may be a good kid, but with a bad wheel already before he makes a single carry? I hope he proves me wrong, but when you pass on a stud like Vinny Miller for cast offs like Quarterio and recruit ones with leg problems, what would you call it?

Anyone notice Montana's two deep? RG and RT are 6-8 and 320 ish.

Bet they run the ball right, alot.

  • AppfanJared

sixtoes – They'll be running right a good bit. I'm sure that there's always something going to the right. I found an article saying that, even with play-action, the QB would roll out to the right.

  • The coverage for the game was totally one sided. I watched it again and picked it apart. I didn't see one interview on the side lines for App. They talked about all of the ECU players who looked good last year. On the air the announcers talked about APP but that was it. This was an opportunity to show the football world a little about ASU and Fox dropped the ball.
