It’s the Packers versus the Seahawks tonight, and the starting middle LB we all love admits to kinda admiring the guy he’ll try to drill – “linebacker DJ Smith, who had height concerns of his own coming out of Appalachian State, told me he’s glad to see a fellow ‘under-sized’ guy have success. He qualified, Wilson’s a QB, and he doesn’t like QBs.” Give ‘em hell! In other NFL action from weekend, The Quickness was inactive (Jeff Fisher said, “The other guys are still ahead of him.”) as was Travaris Cadet.
FRUSTRATED MUCH? Smith ain’t happy.

Not the classiest move, but hey he did get hit by a questionable block right before the whistle or simultaneously with the whistle.
Yup. Thats DJ for ya. Did that to me many-a-time, and we played together!
Utterly stupid move on his part. But not nearly as bad as the sheer stupidity and incompetence of the refs in that game. The NFL is flushing it's most important asset down the toilet, and it will take years to get it back. If they ever do.
Packers did not lose to the Seahawks, they lost to the zebras!!
Classic cheap shot on the video clip from unprofessional jerk.
If Quick can not over come his learning disability it is likely that he will be dropped from the roster and cut after the season. Just proof that the NFL Combine is bunch of crap.
you are useless
That was a love TAP, not a punch. It is the NFL. Sometimes players have to send a message that they are not to be screwed with. BQ will be fine. If he would have been properly coached in college he would not be so far behind the learning curve. Unions have ruined America and now they are impacting our National Game. This is the 21 century. I believe that the Union as an institution has run its course of being beneficial to society.
And yosef82 has reached his limit for intelligence… God forbid the owners pay referees a wage they (now obviously) deserve…
Oh lord yes BQ was horribly coached… Didn't play football until his Senior year in high school… all time leader in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdown catches. Its a true wonder how Dexter Coakley and DJ Smith caught on so quickly in the NFL. I am sure none of these fine players would ever give credit to coach Moore. You obviously know him better than they do. Just when i thought everything was George Bush's fault it turns out to all be Jerry Moore's fault… WHO KNEW?
Are we going to get our refs back for Saturday? I think I recognized the older guy…the one that awarded the TD.
Love these folks who know everything there is to know about every player. They are so wired in you just wonder how they have time to be on here.
I think Quick will get there. He didn't exactly have the most complex playbook in college, so that jump to the NFL is probably huge for him. I think he'll catch on eventually. He just needs to calmly look into what he can do and tap his potential. He'll be a good receiver in the future.
Properly coached in college? I have seen number one draft picks in the NFL that never did catch on or make an impact in the NFL. The games are very different, if they weren't, all of Alabama's players would go to the NFL not just a select few.
What's up with all the supposed former players posting on here lately? I mean, they are of course free to but I didn't think they bothered themselves with whiny fan message boards.
we all become fans once we hang up our cleats
Shouldn't have done that, but he was pushed to the ground right before this.
Anyone else think it is funny how he turns away and hold his hand just like a kid caught on the playground?
I like how the lineman just drops his head after the hit. He knows he got away with a late hit…
Quick wasn't properly coached in college… hmmm… some could say that taking a kid that only played one year of football in high school, who wasn't highly recruited, and turning him into the first pick of the second round…..
Ahhh…nevermind.
bigjohn
Just stop. you just need to understand that the coaches suck, the track sucks, the administration sucks, FCS sucks, oh heck just everything sucks. All those NCs and Conference championships and draft picks were an accident. They just happened. Every team wins at least 9 games every year. Don't they?
You know we all bitch after a game here and there but the constant bitching about coaches and the FCS is just plain worn out. It has turned into kindergarden crap.
i think you misunderstood bigjohn's comment. at least, as i perceived it. he was responding to yosef82 who claimed that quick was improperly coached by saying that the coaches took a player with only 1 year of hs experience and turned him into the first pick of the 2nd round
as or any of his other comments they may be fair game..
OH and there is NO excuse for what he did. NONE Just glad he didn't do it on our field.
What DJ did was pretty harmless … not excusable, but harmless. The guy just cheap-shotted him. Not like he pulled a Greg Jennings and went after the guy.
BQ had 4 different WR coaches, and they turned him into a an NFL caliber receiver from a 1 year HS player. Give me a BREAK!
And yes, most of the guys I played with at App are still die-hard fans, not all, but most. I've turned a couple of them on to the site.
Bcoach you are dead on and thank you for the comment. And is Murray thr UNC-c troll?
Not sure if you guys didnt watch the game or what, but DJ was the one given the cheap shot! He got agressively knocked on his arse after the whistle which did not get called. What he did was a natural reaction. I have no problem with it at all…just too bad he was the one who got the penalty!
I don't care if the opposing lineman had just kicked him in the nuts, you don't let your personal need for retribution cost your team 15 yards. That's the reaction of a whiny punk, not a man. He was wrong.
Have you ever played football and been hit with such a blatent cheap shot like that? If so, there's no way you can automatically call a reaction like DJ's the action of a "whiny punk"…sometimes it just happens. Maybe you know something I don't?
DJ did what any wired football player would have done….I'll just assume that if someone walked up to you all at a bar and cheap shotted you, you would turn the other cheek. FOH. Not excusable, but it doesn't make him any less of a man.
If retaliating would cost my colleagues and peers something, then yes, I would turn the other cheek…
I’m not sure I would compare this incident to being accosted in a bar. When I played olb and got cheap shotted I would just stick em real good in the very next play
