Reminder – The Citadel has swept App State this season in the big three – football, bball and baseball. 0-5. Ouch. The two open the SoCon tournament today at 10 – “Last year, we had already locked up the SoCon and we had a pretty good feeling we’d be going to a regional, but this year we know we have to win the tournament to go,” Callaway said.”

SoCon baseball tourney opens with App State

SoCon regular season champ ‘Whee won the series with App State, 2 games to 1. App had a huge rally Saturday, entering the 8th down 8-1 and winning 9-8. The good guys finish the season in fifth place. They open the SoCon baseball tournament Wednesday with a 10 a.m. contest with No. 4 seed The Citadel. It’s a double elimination tournament.

What App State does to ‘Whee in football, the Cats did to the Mountaineers yesterday in baseball. Yikes! Game 2 today, and regular-season finale Saturday. With the loss, App State can finish no better than 5th in the SoCon, which is where it is now. The ‘Whee is the class of the league at 22-6, 37-17 overall.
